If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
– Desmond Tutu
Every shirt is political. It’s not just about what a shirt says on the front; it’s about what you’re saying when you buy it or wear it.
If you buy a shirt that was manufactured with unethical labor, you’re making a statement in favor of abuse. The same goes for the corporation who you buy it from, or the materials it’s made with.
Our shirts are hand-printed in the USA (by happy people) on ethical garments (by Bella + Canvas – humane, platinum WRAP certified).
They are priced in the gift economy (subverting capitalism), meaning you choose how much to pay beyond the exact cost of the materials and printing. In this way, we are gifting the shirts to you, and you choose how you want to reciprocate that gift.
And 100% of the proceeds go directly to justice organizations (50% to American Civil Liberties Union; 50% to hues, a Global Justice Collective in which this project lives).
Make a statement with the message, with the shirt itself, and with the organizations you can choose to support in buying it.
